Job Description

Maintenance Technician required for a manufacturing organisation in Hampshire. Working within the factory ensuring the smooth running of the operation through the upkeep of all systems.

This is a busy role with a hands on approach of the day-to-day running of maintenance and site services function, ensuring all requirements/requests are responded to in a timely manner and dealt with by the agreed time scales. Key Responsibilities: Machine tool fitting involving the dismantling, repair and assembly of manufacturing machinery Basic plumbing to maintain the manufacturing hot and cold water systems Pipe fitting for the maintenance of pneumatic, hydraulic and water systems Repair of control panels Basic Electronics Updating plant maintenance database Updating maintenance training database To be aware of Quality standards required and contribute actively towards continuous improvement To be responsible for ensuring maintenance requests and projects are processed in order of priority. To help minimise energy waste within the factory environment. To have the responsibility for the upkeep of the planned maintenance system and ensuring spare parts for essential equipment are readily at hand. Pro-actively review ways of implementing a preventative maintenance philosophy/culture to reduce/eliminate the amount of reactive maintenance as a result of breakdowns. To be pro-active in aiding the management team in improving the efficiency of the operation in terms of factory maintenance and machine down time. To maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the working area. To actively be involved in continuous improvement helping the manufacturing cell Team Leaders in driving items including (but not limited to) 5S, visual management. Ensure application of the Health, Safety, Environmental and Fire policies for the company and to attend mandatory updates when required. Supplementary Roles: All employees are expected to tackle short-term assignments, appropriate to their abilities * At least 5 GCSEs graded \"C\" and above or equivalent including maths, English and one science or technical subject such as electronics * Skilled in the reading and interpretation of engineering drawings * 17th edition qualified * A good understanding of mechanical/electrical equipment including plcs, m/c electrics/electronics, vac pumps * Experience and knowledge of maintenance skills * Proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office standard business tools * Team leading experience Experience implementing/working in a lean manufacturing culture This vacancy is being advertised by s.com Group Ltd.
