Our client is conducting a major nursing recruitment campaign to recruit a special kind of nursing senior management professional who can manage a team of up to 3 managers and indirect reports whose aim is to look after children and young people aged 0 - 25 with life threatening or life limiting illnesses. This has been necessitated by the opening of a brand new site aimed at young people/young adults needing complex nursing care. This can be in a palliative or respite scenario and will involve the management of care and close contact with the families within a home from home environment.
An overview of the role is highlighted below
To manage the day to day care and multi-disciplinary operations in support of the Director of Care.
To provide clinical leadership to the Clinical Team Leaders and Care Team, whilst maintaining own expert clinical practice, ensuring compliance with the policies, procedures and guidelines. To provide specialist education and training to Care Team
To assist the Director of Care (as Registered Manager) in fulfilling the requirements of the Care Quality Commission, enabling young people and their relatives to receive specialist care in a purpose-built unit.
To provide clinical leadership to all members of the Care Team, actively enhancing and developing the provision of care in line with current research and other evidence.
To provide a hands-on presence on the \'shop floor\', offering clinical practice education on a day to day basis, together with the Care Management Team, manage the resources in an efficient manner.
To participate in clinical duties as required, maintaining a visible presence on the unit for at least 40% of your time.
