Customer Support Engineer, Hampshire (worldwide), Permanent, Up to 30K

Summary
The role will focus on providing service and support across the Rest of World (RoW) region and across the range of current and future products. The main activities are system installations, preventative maintenance, remedial maintenance and remote support via email and telephone. Other tasks include system upgrades, service reports and database updates. The role involves significant national and international travel sometimes for periods of up to three to four weeks.

Job Purpose
To provide exceptional customer service and support at all levels and on all products to the clients internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities and Authorities
- Installation including
- Supervise the unpacking and placement of products at customer sites
- Perform the installation of equipment and verify correct operation. This will require a knowledge of electronics, mechanical adjustment, optics and software based applications
- Provide application training such that customers have a full understanding and
confidence in the use of the equipment

- Service and support including
- Provide high quality technical troubleshooting and applications support by phone or email.
- Provide on-site service to repair any system malfunction
- Provide, and organize schedules for preventative maintenance visits

- Administration of support activities including
- Completion of service and installation reports
- Prompt updating of CRM database
- Perform product demonstrations as requested by the sales team for prospective customers. Prepare the demonstration equipment and ensure it is in proper working order before performing the demonstration. Demonstrations will be tailored to the interests of the customer.

The right candidate will have proven ability in the following areas
- Computerised robotic instruments and systems, preferably in a BioTech industry or sector.
- Demonstrate the ability to diagnose technical issues and communicate clearly and effectively with customers via email, telephone and face to face
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently, individually or as part of a team
- Self-motivated with a flexible attitude
- Demonstrate strong problem solving ability - finding solutions which meet customer and
organisational objectives
- Commitment to delivering excellent customer service
- Highly effective written and verbal communication skills
- Organised and logical with the ability to be inventive and able to prioritise on-going activities
- Able to meet deadlines as well as customer and business requirements
- A formal qualification is desirable

The role will involve significant international travel, sometimes at short notice, so flexibility on travel arrangements is required. A full driving license and passport are requirements of this position
