Job Description
Library Assistant
£15292 per annum (fixed term contract until 31 May 2012)
Hartley Library
The University of Southampton is one of the first Universities in the UK to support an Institutional Repository, which is to provide a permanent record of the research output of the University and maximise the visibility, usage and impact of this research through global access.
You will be expected to provide support for the University of Southampton Research Repository by cataloguing and classifying the research outputs of the University across the full range of academic disciplines covering all Schools.
You will have skill level equivalent to the achievement of NVQ2, GCSE or City & Guilds together with excellent IT and communication skills. The ability to work accurately to agreed standards and experience of working in a customer based environment is essential. Also, knowledge of the electronic publishing environment is highly desirable.
